Jill Metzler-Wiese, Designer & Owner

Designer

Jill was born and raised in New York. Her mother, Rosalie, was constantly changing their beautifully decorated house into whatever was the trend of the day, and there was Jill: right there, giving her opinion, solicited or not. How else can you explain the white and purple paneling in her childhood room?

Jill left that purple and went off to another purple: East Carolina University. Even though she majored in English, she spent lots of time rearranging the furniture and painting her dorm room. She always seemed to materialize at the doorway of any fellow pirate who uttered the words "I am so sick of this room!"

Jill spent many years in the sales and marketing arena of some of the most respected pharmaceutical companies in the world. She spent her days with patients, doctors, and medication, but her spare time was spent decorating not only her home but the homes of her friends and customers as well. After some time, her hobby was more time-consuming than her paying job.

That's when Jill decided to do what she had always loved and had always had the talent for — she became an interior designer. People are usually surprised to hear about Jill's background but are impressed when she shows enthusiasm and knowledge of interior design.

Jill has spoken to several women's groups in the area as well as been a featured speaker at the Raleigh home and garden show. She's been asked to participate in the designer showcase at the Southern Ideal Home Show. Jill has taken part in the Wake Forest Parade of Homes and has taught classes at Meredith College, Durham, and Wake Technical Colleges. She is a member of  Interior Design Society, Wake County Home Builders Association, National Association of Women Business Owners and News & Observer's "Ask the Design Expert" Panel.

Jill has been invited to participate in the Junior League of Durham and Orange County designer show house. She also writes a monthly column for the Wakefield Plantation and North Ridge Homeowners Associations on interior design. In 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016, Jill won Houzz's prestigious Best of Houzz Design Award. Triangle residents will be able to see her in the April edition of House Beautiful and Elle Decor.

Sam Rhule

Sam Rhule, Business Manager

Sam was born and raised in right here in Durham! Graduating from Riverside, he’s one of the rare people who’s seen The Bull City before it became the amazing city it is today. He absolutely loves this community.

Having roots in Germany and Central Pennsylvania, Sam left God’s Basketball Country and went to college in God’s Football Country: THE Pennsylvania State University (WE ARE!) where he studied Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management.

After four years of Northeastern winters, Sam moved back home and has spent the past sixteen years as Owner and Manager of local restaurant concept.

Sam’s lovely wife, Kirsten and beautiful daughter, Eveleigh, though very proud and supportive of his success, missed him as he worked those crazy restaurant hours. Making the decision to put his family first was an easy one for him to make: he left the chaos of kitchens, customers and culinary delights behind and joined the Just Jill team as head hurricane wrangler.

Sam has been a board member for The Special Olympics of North Carolina, a member of the ARC Association of Orange County, and numerous other charities benefiting those with Special Needs. Sam, Kirsten, and Eveleigh live in Durham along with their two dogs, Maggie and Maverick and their cat, Biscuits.
