Just the Family!

Jill Metzler-Wiese, President

Jill was born and raised in New York in a beautifully decorated home.  Her mother, Rosalie, was constantly changing their house into the decorating trend of the day and Jill was right there to give her opinion.  That must be the explaination for the white and purple paneling in her childhood room.

Jill left THAT purple and went off to another purple:  East Carolina University.  Even though she majored in English, she spent a great deal of time rearranging the furniture in her dorm room as well as the furniture of her friends.  To the shock of her father, Steve, she actually graduated and entered the work force.

Jill spent many years in the sales and marketing arena of some of the most respected pharmaceutical companies in the world.  Even though her days were spent with patients, doctors, and medication, her spare time was spent decorating not only her home, but the homes of her friends as well.  After some time, her hobby was more time-consuming than her paying job.

That's when Jill decided to do what she had always loved and had always had the talent for:  she became an Interior Designer.  People are usually surprised to hear about Jill's background but are impressed when she shows enthusiasm and knowledge of interior design.

Jill has spoken to several women's groups in the area as well as been a featured speaker at the 2004 & 2005 Raleigh Home and Garden Show.  She's been asked to participate in the Designer Showcase at the 2004 & 2005 Southern Ideal Home Show.  Jill recently participated in the 2004 Wake Forest Parade of Homes and is currently teaching classes at Meredith College and Wake Technical College.  She is a member of the Interior Design Society, Wake County Home Builders Association, Capital City Club, Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and National Association of Women Business Owners.  Jill has been invited to participate in the Junior League of Durham and Orange County 2006 Designer Show House.

Jill lives in Durham with her husband Rob, son Cooper, and Yellow Labrador Retriever, Logan.

Logan is also on staff at Just Jill! Interiors as official greeter of clients and attacker of our poor UPS drivers.

Kim Krause, Office Manager

Kim was born and raised in Western New York state.  She attended Syracuse University where she completed a five-year degree program in three!   After her children were born, the young family was given an opportunity to come to North Carolina.  After years of Buffalo winters, Kim threw away her ice scraper and snow tires, packed up her clan and moved down South.

After the move, Kim decided to focus her attention to what matters most:  her children.  She left a very successful career in corporate marketing to drive kids to soccer practice, help with homework and be there when her children got off of the school bus.  Always the organizer and planner, Kim quickly became very active in her kids' soccer teams.  She became the tournament planner, logistics coordinator and go-to gal for her children's teams.

Kim met Jill through one of Jill's clients.  Jill was in desperate need of someone who could handle her fasted-paced and exploding business and Kim was looking for a new project to organize: the more chaotic, the better.  Be careful what you wish for:  Kim walked into a storm known as "Hurricane Jill"

On a funny, "it's a small world" note:  Jill's husband and Kim grew up in the same town in Western New York, graduated from competing high schools in the same year and were at some of the same parties as teenagers! 

Since coming to Just Jill! Interiors in the Summer of 2011, Kim has updated eight year old files, put Jill's projects on a white board, cleaned up rug and fabric samples and learned when she should pay attention to Jill's rambling and when to ignore it.  Her ability to handle a great deal of work and complete it in a short period of time has served her well as she has to deal with the creative nature of the principal designer.

Kim lives in Cary with her husband Don, daughter Tori, and son Evan.  The newest member of the Krause House is Scout:  she will be joining Logan as guard dog when she is potty trained.
